...You are the entire ocean in a drop.”
Happy March!
I am writing this on a quiet Sunday as the clocks have gone forward an hour, and the sun is shining. I decided to concentrate on the promise of the month of March and the Persian poet Rumi. You are valuable and now is a great time to remind yourself of your own importance to yourself, and the rest of the world.
May the early spring
Awaken your soul and
Remind you to
Celebrate the season with the
Hope and joy it brings
The above acrostic portrays the hope and excitement which the month of March can offer us. With the clocks moving forwards, there will be an extra hour of light in the evenings which is a great opportunity for us to soak up some more vitamin D outside. We can take advantage of the extra light outside to start exploring Nature more as we anticipate warmer weather. Although many of us have experienced some snow this month, we can decide to make sure that our attitudes are more optimistic of better weather coming our way, and that the snow was just a little challenge along the way...and especially given that the bright blue skies depicted in the photograph below were present just a day before the snow came down...!

With that optimism in mind, I would like to spend some time considering the Persian poet Rumi who lived in the 13th century. Like many other poets during this time period, Rumi's poetry speaks of love which infuses the whole world. However, Rumi's words have a certain blunt but sincere truthfulness which I think present a great source of hope and motivation for us all.
Rumi once said:
"You wander from room to room Hunting for the diamond necklace That is already around your neck!"
Often, we look to others and to other things beyond ourselves to find ourselves. We think that we may find happiness and enjoyment in that which is beyond ourselves. However, once we realise that the happiness and truth is within, life becomes a lot easier.
We can enjoy experiences with loved ones and take pleasure in objects that we possess, but we are comfortable in the knowledge that we are enough. We are prized treasures that are valuable and are priceless.
I think this is a beautiful idea that we can utilise and remember in our daily lives. We have all the qualities that we need, and we would do well to honour that and recognise ourselves.
Imagine hunting for a diamond necklace and worrying that you have lost it, when eventually you realise that it has been there on your neck the entire time during your search? You would feel a great sense of relief and gratitude that you have found it. Take the time to show gratitude towards yourself and all that you have achieved. No matter what the obstacles are along the way, you are here now reading this blog and can be thankful that you have what you need to face the next challenges in your life.

I am delighted to say that I have continued with more episodes of my own mini podcast-type series @snippetswithsitara which featured stars from every walk of life, talking about their own life experiences, how they deal with their challenges and their advice for future generations…one of the most recent episodes features Stacey Copeland, BBC Radio presenter and former England footballer and professional boxer. I am always looking for new individuals to feature in this series, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any suggestions! Thank you for all your continued support for the foodie brand Instagram account. March has been a month of colour and experimenting with different flavours and I hope that you are also taking the time to enjoy your food as the weather begins to improve. I am delighted to announce that we have partnered with Boostball to support upcoming training as we look towards more Dinghy racing events and the start of the Wakeboarding season...they have a variety of different products which you can view on their website here.
I conclude the blog of March with the following words by Rumi:
“Respond to every call that excites your spirit.”
Lots of love,
Sitara xxxx
